Our Green Credentials
We ask guests & visitors to help us by:-
- Recycling newspapers, magazines, glass, cans and plastic bottles and cardboard using the special centres provided on the parks. It is important to follow instructions when recycling to avoid contamination.
- Re-using bags when purchasing items daily from the shop. Staff re-use any carrier bags where possible, and otherwise encourage the purchase of strong jute shoppers or recycled paper bags from the shop instead of using more new plastic bags.
- Saving energy whilst staying on the park. Low energy and energy efficient fluorescent lighting has been installed across the majority of the parks with light sensors in some facilities, and guests can help by minimising usage and being energy aware within your units.
- Moderating water usage in the showers and around the site. In an effort to improve the quality of facilities for our guests we have upgraded the showers to individual thermostatically controlled units without those annoying push valves. All we ask is that our guests are not wasteful with the water by having prolonged showers.
- Supporting local initiatives. In our shop we are moving away from stocking the mass-produced foods as many of our customers will buy their groceries from the supermarkets within the area. Instead we offer a variety of delicious produce either made by our Chef or locally made which tastes great and reduces food miles.
- Looking after the wildlife by keeping the sites litter-free and respecting the countryside. Areas of the grounds have been left to grow into wild flower areas, with coppicing and log piles to encourage local wildlife such as butterflies, moths, a variety of over 65 birds and some small mammals.
We are continually auditing our efforts and looking for new ways in which to improve our sustainability. If you any suggestions or ideas please let us know.
