Dog Friendly Days Out

We've Got It Covered

As dog owners ourselves, we know what you are looking for when you bring your dog away with you. Let's face it, they are very much considered as members of the family, aren't they?

Well, you can rest assured that there are many places to visit in North Devon which will welcome well behaved dogs on leads, as well as opportunities to let them roam free in certain areas.

Dog-Friendly Beaches

The main beach which accepts dogs off leads all year round is Saunton Sands. It is a fabulous open beach, with about 3 miles of golden sand and backed by massive sand dunes. An excellent surfing beach which is manned with lifeguards, and there is a large car park, shop and cafe. Dogs just love romping amongst the dunes or paddling along at the water's edge.

Woolacombe, Croyde and Putsborough have miles of golden sand too, however there is restricted access with dogs on leads during the main season on all of these.

The smaller, more rocky or shingle beaches at Newberry near Combe Martin, and Lee Bay near Ilfracombe allow dogs off leads all year round, as does Mortehoe beach although access to this is via steps.

So you see there's many options for you and your dog to have a wonderful time strolling along the North Devon Coast.

And at Hidden Valley...

As we are all dog lovers, we truly enjoy meeting your dogs. We do have a few general rules to ensure that everyone can have a wonderful, stress-free holiday: we ask that your

  • Dogs are kept under proper control and on a lead whilst on site
  • Owners must remove any fouling immediately and please use the dog refuse bins provided
  • Dogs must not be left unattended on the park
