There’s always a lot going on in North Devon...

In early 2014 we made many changes around the site to make us more green...find out more.

We are pleased to announce that we have retained out 5 Pennant from the AA for the second year! When we first bought the park, it was awarded 4 Pennant so we are thrilled to see that the hard work and dedication we have put into improving the park has paid off.

AA Inspector, Roy Pye commented:
“It was a pleasure to revisit this extensive, linear park situated each side of a lively watercourse, in a peaceful wooded valley between Braunton and Ilfracombe.  I received an extremely warm welcome from all the members of the Legg family and I am grateful to Carol for a lovely lunch and to Richard for taking the time to talk me through the necessary alterations to the gents shower trays in the top block and to show me around the park pointing out the improvements made for this season.  These include:-
1.        WiFi throughout the park.
2.        Newly laid tarmac perimeter road.
3.        Newly enlarged and re-stone hardstandings.
4.        Three attractive timber cabins set in their own quiet area, each equipped with spacious timber decking.
5.        Purchase of two adjacent fields to be utilised for 28 day camping/additional playing field for the children and in part, extra storage for caravans.
This park is much improved since my last visit and I was pleased to see a good standard of topiary at the attractive entrance and a lovely display of colourful flowers around the reception area. The removal of a number of conifers along the entrance road makes a big difference and it is obvious a considerable amount of effort has been expended clearing some of the more dense undergrowth below numerous trees around the park. I was pleased to see these areas left natural, with the mown grass running neatly up to them.

I spoke with Carol, Raymond and their sons about general camping matters and was very pleased to hear this year had seen an improvement in their figures – testament to hard work, good ideas and innovative pricing.  I stressed the importance of attention to detail in all areas at the AA 5 Pennant level and am confident this park will continue to improve year on year.  This was a very enjoyable visit and I am pleased to confirm an AA 5 Pennant Rating with an 85% Quality Score.”
